Important Mulletude Update

Mulletude's drummer Nate St. Ides has left the band to devote more time to starring in videos for 2guys1cup.com. We wish him all the best in his disgusting new endeavor.

Have no fear because Mulletude will be having a press conference at The Mirage to introduce our new drummer shortly.

Check out the insider for sweet pictures from the gig!

Click on High Fidelity party in the Snapshots section.

We have the best looking fans ever.

I don't know why they say Papercut Ninjas and Mulletude are the same band though. And what's that nonsense about wigs? I don't know where she got her information.

Thank you Rochester

Thank you to everyone who came out to the show last night. You guys rocked so much, can't say enough good things about that crowd. Great costumes (nice work ladies, Mulletude liiiike), great energy. We had so much fun.

Feel free to email us at mulletuderocks at gmail dot com if you have any pictures or video from the gig you want to share with everyone. Also, shoot us a note if you'd like to be on our mailing list (most of you are already getting hassled by us before gigs anyway, but still....)

Thanks to sound guy Matt for doing such a great job and thanks to Joe Gizzie and the rest of the High Fidelity gang for putting on such a great party.

Stay tuned for details about future gigs. We have some big things planned for 2008.

Mulletude Helloween FAQ

1. What time does the show start?

10:00 Friday October 26-6-6

2. What time should I get there?

See #1. If High Fidelity is full and you get there too late, you can walk a little further down East Ave and have decaf fair trade coffee while some Eastman band geeks plays something old and lame like the nerd that you are.

3. What should I wear?

A costoom. Preferably something reveeling if you're hot. Or even if you're not. (We'll be drinking.) We don't care what dudes wear as long as it's funny.

4. When does Mulletude hit the stage?

11:30 or so. Papercut Ninjas will rock first with new 80s hits at 10:00. If 11:30 is past your bedtime, you don't rock at all and thus will not enjoy the heavy metal mayhem. Instead, you should go home and cry yourself to sleep lissening to the Josh Groban CD you already have in your CD player.

5. When does the show end?

They'll pull the plug on us at 2:00 am. All those with backstage passes will then line up and the rest of you must exit the premmisiss

High Fidelity ad in this week's Insider

Pick up a copy of this week's insider, there's a High Fidelity ad that has a picture of us.

The new editions to our set are so good, you're going to die. That's not a figure of speech. I mean that you will rock so hard that you will actually stop living.

Mulletude Halloween costume suggestions: Part II

You can go as 80s rasslers. This clip features two skullets (Hulk Hogan and Earthquake) and one mullet (looks like me but really it's the Ultimate Warrior. he needs to hit the weights more to look like me).

Mulletude Halloween costume suggestions: Part I

You can go as an 80s high school yearbook picture:

Glorious mullet: Check!
Montgomery Ward clip on tie: Check!
Fist and wrist vice grip conveying toughness: Check!
Smug smirk: Check!

Rock of Love

How have we not commented on this? We've dropped the ball.

Anyway, as you probably already know, Rock of Love was based on the fawlty premis that Bret Michaels needs to find one special lady to settle down with.

Then, at the climactic moment of the show, Bret asks the final too ladies (Jess was hot in a futuristic early 21 century kinda way and Brandy who was way hotter in a timeless 80s make out in a dumpster kind of way) if they'd be willing to both be his girlfriend. Great question, Bret, I like how you think.

Then, much to my shagrinn, Bret picks the girl (Jess) that wouldn't be willing to share him. Right question, wrong answer!

Bret Michaels is choosing monogummy, Bon Jovi is playing on CMT - my world is turning upside down.

Video 1 from Park Ave Fest

You might wanna mute this one, pretty distorted but still pretty awesome. that guy in the front rocks so hard.

Sunday, August 5, 2007

Thanks to Prepps and everyone who came out

We had such a grate time yesturday. Although we had some technicle difficulties early on (RGE was woah fully unprepared for the electric onslaught of Von Carhart's shredding), the rocking could not be stopped. The minor brownout early on doesn't compare to the major blackout we had sometime after 8:00

Thanks to everyone who came for making it such a kick ass party.

The Final Countdown To Me Stabbing My Eardrums

The final countdown to Park Ave Fest is less than 5 days, but the final countdown to the most awesumly turrible performance on youtube is just seconds away.

Maybe Mayor Duff will have these guys headline musicfest next year.

Schedule on Sat. Aug. 4 at Prepp's

Papercut Ninjas start around 12:30 ish, Mulletude goes on at 3:30 ish. Ish being the operative word. Start your bender early.

Park Ave Fest - Sat Aug 4

Back were it all began baby! We're playing at Prepps again this year, not sure exactly what time but it doesn't matter. Get there at noon and drink all day. The more you drink the better we sound. Oh yeah.

For those of you who aren't familiar with park ave fest, it's hard to describe. But i'm going to try. You have booths everywhere filled with a bunch of garbage you couldn't pay me to take off your hands. Mayan inspired lawn ornuments, papaya flavored mustard, new age windchimes and kazoo duos peddling their noodlings on CDs that would be perfect background music if I ever decide i need to shoot myself in the face, stuff like that. Not only does all the stuff suck, it's really expensive. They need to start selling cool stuff like Samantha Fox posters and sweet fuzzy dice to hang from your rear view mirror

Anyway, for some reason, this collection of ex Dungeons and Dragons nerds selling their art class junk inspires two day benders from everyone in the neighborhood. If you have to pass out in someone's yard before going home to throw up in your sweater drawer, this is the weekend to do it.

So get there early on Saturday, it's gonna be crowded. We're working on more songs so tell your friends. Most of you will need to make friends first before you can tell them.

Pictures from the gig on a D&C offshoot website

I raised my i brows a little when i got an email saying to check out the mulletude pictures at http://men.rocmen.com That URL looks like the type of website that wouldn't want pictures of us slobs and it looks like the type of website that we would avoid, if you catch my drift. But it ain't like that at all, it's a new D&C website

here's a direct link to the pop up picture page

Wow

What a grate time last night was. Mulletude Nation rocked so much. 80s chix are so hot. I don't know what to do with myself today. Maybe I'll get my bleeding ears checked out. Thanks to everyone who came and thanks to High Fidelity. We'll be back for Park Ave Fest at Prepps and rumors are beginning to circle about a High Fidelity a gig in October. It would be for an occasion where people are expected to wear costumes. (although, I no in my case, this aint know costume, that's me baby.) Nothing confirmed yet for October but keep it in the back of your head, along with 90 per scent of your hair.

Field goal jumper

This guy has his mullet tied into a ponytale but I don't care, it's still scores a 10 for mulletude ballsiness.

June 15 issue of the Rochester Insider

There's a funny story about Mulletude in this week's issue of the Rochester Insider (a free tablloyd style newspaper put out by the Democrat and Chronical). It's not on their websight just yet but when it is, I'll post a link. The hilight of the interview for me was Nate's profound insite that 80s music draws people like a bug zapper.

Thanks to Troy Smith from the Insider for the article.

New songs in store

We'll be playing all our previous hits on the 22nd and we're adding a bunch of knew songs. Well, I don't no if anything from an album called 1984 for instance can be considered new, but it's new for us. We're ridickulously syked.

New pic

You might think that the redness in our ayes is from the camera, but you'd be wrong. Our eyes ar red cause they are hot with the fury of heavy metal gods.

Happy hour before the gig

Turns out that my friend Tom is playing happy hour on the 22nd at High Fidelity. They'll go from 5 to 9. He's in a 2 man trio with acoustic guitar and drums called Jumbo Shrimp. They have short hair, they take showers and they don't sing about Satan at all but they're still pretty good for guys that aren't possessed by demons (like us).

http://jumboshrimpmusic.com

I know a joke about a mortician and a jumbo shrimp but if i tell it here, blogger might shut down my wide world of web enternet sight. They're not named after the joke though. Which is good.

Bon Jovi Runaway on youtube

This is video is so awesum. There's alot of fire in it and it has nukular fallout which is sweet! The special affects gave me nightmares, but that's alright because nightmares rule. Nukular radiators apparently makes chick's eyebrows even scarier than mine.

Mulletude mention in Rochester Insider

Susie Q had this to say

Onto less serious topics, which is what I really like, last night I went to Jimmy Mac's for the Mulletude show. Think 80's hair band only mullet style. I know it sounds like I'm really into the 80's based on the fact that I just saw Danger Kitty a few weeks ago (see post) but I'm really not. There is something to be said of the power ballad though, and I am drawn to it. I was more intoxicated at this show than at Danger Kitty, thanks to multiple grapey shots which compromised my strict, but not so strict, No Shot Policy. And by not so strict I mean if you came up to me and asked me if I wanted to do a shot, I'd barely hesitate and say, "Okay," even though I know I'm going to highly regret it the next day and then the policy is back in effect. By then I am sober and thinking rationally again so it makes sense at the time. Which pretty much makes the whole policy worthless. My sober self says, "No way, no shots, shots are bad, bad things happen when shots happen." But my tipsy self says, "Hells yeah!" Stupid tipsy self. I will analyze that some more later.

Anyway, Mulletude really had the crowd going and it was a good time.

You know it! Too bad she went to Barf Lie afterwards because she missed the debut performance of Moustache Ride..

Scroll down to "RIP, Chili Socks."

Thanks to everyone at Jimmy Mac's

Thank you to everyone who came out to Jimmy Mac's. Looked to me like everyone was having a great time - I know that all of us had a blast. Keep checking in for more gigs. We'll definitely be playing at Park Ave Fest, but I don't know if I can go that long without rocking... Stay tuned

Gigs February 9th and 10th with Papercut Ninjas

2/9 TF Browns (Batavia) - 10:00 Map
2/10 Jimmy Macs (Rochester) - 9:30 Map

Saturday, February 10, 2007

Thank you, Batavia

Batavia was well rocked last night. TF Browns is write up are alley. We put the rock in rock 'n bowl. Mulletude thoroly enjoyed melting faces with heavy metal thunder. No power grid in Genesee County can withstand the fury of Von Carhart's fingering. We'll see if Monroe County is up to the chalenge tonight.

Friday, February 9, 2007

Genesee County will rock tonight

Tonight, we'll be at TF Browns aka The B.B.E. (Best Bar Ever) in Batavia. Did you know Batavia was Capital for a Day? I'm telling ya, Batavia's big time. You know it. Oh yeah.

Well start around 10.

Tomorow, we'll be back in Rochester at Jimmy Mac's in High Falls. The guy in the Dokken video will be rokken both nights, I'm almost sure of it.

I'm so pumped for these gigs, I know I'm not going to be able to concentrait when I go see my paroll officer later today.

Diamond Dave with no Michael Anthony???

Dude, why can't those Van Halen brothers do anything write? I'm all ready to rock out when I heard they were reuniting with Dave, but then I find out they replaced Michael Anthony with Eddie's 15 yr old great grandson, Wolfgang? Michael Anthony is the coolest guy in that band with a killer kentuky waterfall to boot.

Wikipedia entry for Ratt's Lay It Down

We'll probably be laying down Lay It Down as well. Check out the wikipedia entry. (Wikipedia is an internet where people who read books and stuff corroborate for an online enpsychelopedia. ) I'd guess that Mulletude sums up "primal animalistic physical desire" perfectly, but I can't be sure because animalistic is a pretty big word.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lay_It_Down_%28song%29

"Lay It Down" is one of the most famous songs made by the glam metal band Ratt. Expressing a deep yearning for love in earnest, the song conveys its tender message of both the emotional trust invested into love as well as the more primal animalistic physical desire inherent to mankind.

Stephen Pearcy intentionally strayed from saccharin-sweet schmaltz while not crossing the line into sleaze. Musically, this song finds Ratt exhibiting the swagger of Aerosmith streamlined by the pop sensibilities of the Beatles. This versatility showed the world that they hadn't lost their touch while making their second album. "Lay It Down" was the first single released to promote their second album, Invasion of Your Privacy.

This song reached #40 on the Billboard Hot 100 during the summer of 1985. It continued Ratt's success in the world of rock music, which would not cease until the dawn of the following decade. The song was co-written by Ratt vocalist Stephen Pearcy, bassist Juan Croucier, and guitarists Robbin Crosby and Warren DeMartini.

Set list

Heres a list of new tunes that were worthy of Mulletude consideration. We won't be playin' all these but we we'll be rippin up what ever we can learn:
Livewire - Motley Crue
Livin' on a Prayer - Bon Jovi
Stroke - Billy Squire
I Remember You - Skid Row
Lick It Up - Kiss

Overall our set will have 20 songs. TWENTY F'N SONGS!

Saturday, January 20, 2007

New songs

For those of you who were at Prepps Park Ave Fest and remember anything about the day, we'll be returning with that set list plus killer new songs we wouldve played had our practice time not been limited by some of us being incinerated for not paying our child support.

Critter in the studio

Me & PJ was peppin' for our next gigs in my studio/cellar today. We heard a damned noise in the duck-work and realized we had a critter inhabitin' our studio. So we shook that thang out of the pipes and it turned out to be a bird! The bird was lookin' good to me and PJ but my ole lady, let's call her Yoko Vegetarian, wouldn't let us prep it up with Country Sweet sauce. She has a catch and release policy. So we let it go. It will probably end up in the grill of my 2-ton Doge Hemmy. Rock and Rool !

Pictures from Park Ave Fest

Mulletude returns

Weve been rockin Japan since our dabut at Prepps Park Ave Fest bash. They gave us so much money, we had to set most of it on fire. The only thing cooler than money is fire, so its all good. The wrath of Mulletude will return to the States Friday, February 9 at TF Browns in Batavia and Saturday, February 10 at Jimmy Macs in Rochester. You know it! Oh yeah.
